The Nature of Crystals
I have an affinity for rocks and crystals. I have my grandmother’s collections and garden beds lined with my finds.
It fascinates me how long it took them to form. I enjoy the thought of their slow, steady growth and the multiple ways the Earth has transformed during the millions of years it took them to create.
I remember being at the Grand Canyon surrounded by eons of sediment-turned-rock layers and recognizing what a blink of life I am in such a magnificent place.
Nature is a humbling and inspiring place for me. Crystals are at the top of the inspiration list, as are Texas sunrises and old oak trees.
Very Brief Geology
Here’s the foundation of how they are identified:
Crystals are identified by their reoccurring lattice-like structure.
Most minerals occur naturally as crystals (They have the lattice structure).
Rocks are made up of more than one mineral.
Therefore, rocks are not crystals but may have crystals in them.
Crystals’ brilliant colors and shapes are spectacular. Of course, the polished ones are beautiful, but seeing them in raw form really resonates with me. I love natural beauty. Seeing large sections of crystals in caves can take my breath away.
Everyday Crystals
They are also prevalent in your daily life. Because of its precision, quartz crystal is used in computers, phones, and watches. Graphite mixes with clay to make “lead” pencils. Drywall includes Gypsum. Other familiar crystals found in your body include Magnesium, Calcium, Iron, Salt, Potassium, and sugar.
Crystals are an important, necessary part of our physical bodies and use in our daily life.
More recently, I have become aware of their significance in other ways. As I began my journey in energy work, I began to feel their vibration. I get that sounds a bit “out there.” It was a bit of a shock, but now it’s an undeniable truth. So let’s dig into this a little.
Crystal Vibes
Science has proven that everything comprises energy, including you, furniture, etc
Vibration is the measurement of the intensity and amplitude of energy.
Phonons are the unit used in science to measure the vibrational motion (energy) of the lattice structure in a crystal.
So, just like everything else, crystals have a vibration.
It isn’t uncommon for people to feel vibrations from speakers, motors, or their beating hearts, so I no longer believe it’s “out there” for me to be sensitive enough to feel the vibration of a crystal.
Working with Crystals
As an energy worker, it’s an excellent quality to have this sensitivity to vibrations.
Your vibration is based on the energy from your body. It includes your breath, chakras, heartbeat, organs, cells, aura, thoughts, experiences, and mood.
We emit changing (less stable) frequencies. It’s one of the reasons I believe we are attracted to crystals; their lattice-like structure makes them very stable. Among other things, they provide our unstable energy some stability.
Crystal Connections
The helping properties of crystals come from history, measured vibration, and practice. These properties include easing stress and anxiety, helping with sleep, mental clarity, and focus, and protecting from 5G radiation and EMF, to name a few.
Since we are unique, the crystal that might aid one person might help another differently.
Respecting that a crystal carries a vibration and that vibe can benefit a person is no different than a mineral supplement a person takes to benefit their health.
In the medical world, one is transdermal (through the skin), and the other is enteral (through the esophagus, stomach, and small intestines).
Let’s look at Copper. Copper supplements are said to help make red blood cells and keep nerve cells and your immune system healthy. Copper bracelets are said to ease arthritis, stiffness, and pain. It doesn’t seem too far-fetched to me to add that a copper also combats lethargy and helps with thought and communication.
Crystal Clear Intentions
The important part about incorporating crystals into your life is the intent behind your use of them. The act of offering someone a crystal to protect them is no different than providing sunscreen for someone about to go outside. When given and used with the right intention, the beauty is in the action.
As someone who works with energy, having crystals in my toolbox is essential.
The singing bowls I am using for sound baths are quartz crystal.
I also make bracelets with them and can custom-make bracelets based on the identified needs of my clients.
So, we know Crystals have energy and vibrations and serve practical everyday purposes. They are fascinating and worth being curious about. What other ways are they in your life?
